The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), as part of its preparations for the holding of Local Government Elections later this year, held a two-day training programme last weekend.The training session was held at the St Joseph High School, Woolford Avenue, Georgetown and was done for the selection of Trainers who will be tasked with teaching temporary field staff to be involved in the conduct of LGE and its precursor Claims and Objections(C & O) exercise.According to GECOM, the training programme targeted 122 applicants, who met the eligibility for appointment.
