It was established in December 2007 after the death of seven-year old Aditya Ramdhan, of Bath Settlement.The Waterloo Nursery School student was sponsored to undergo cardiac surgery in India but died after the procedure.The foundation was conceptualised by Canada-born Lorraine Kissoon and formed by Canadian businessmen. It is managed by a board of directors who are based in Canada.The Vice – President is Mahendra Persaud of Bath Settlement. The other two directors are Iqbal Rahaman of IR Construction of Ontario and formerly of Dundee, Mahaicony and Nasir Ghanny – Management Consultant of Ontario and formerly of Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara.The non-profit body is registered with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The objectives are to provide assistance mainly to less fortunate children. This aid can be had in the form of medical attention, social assistance, educational grants and the development of sports.Though children are the key focus, persons of all ages have benefited as well.
