Two men, both said to be alcoholics, were found dead at different locations in East Canje. The body of Abdul Satar Rasheed,Wholesale Basketball Jerseys, 47, of Lot 9 Adelphi Settlement was discovered lying in his yard around 06:30 hrs on Monday.According to reports, the man was unemployed and was an epileptic. His relatives stated that he suffered from the condition for a considerable time.They said that they ventured downstairs and noticed the man lying motionless on his back in the yard.The police were called in and he was taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post mortem examination performed on the body by Dr Vivekanand Brijmohan gave the cause of death as seizure.Later in the day the police at Reliance Police station were called to Work Shop Street, Canefield Village, East Canje, where the body of Parmanand Nauth, 44, unemployed and also an alcoholic of Lot 92 East Canefield, was found.According to reports, the man lived alone. He was last seen around 10:45 hours when he went over by a friend and requested to use the toilet. He was sent to use the outhouse at the back of the yard.About five minutes later he was seen coming from the back of the yard and after a while he held on to a bench. He then collapsed and remained motionless. The police were then informed and the body was subsequently taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital.Investigations are continuing. |
