City Magistrate Fabayo Azore remanded Mark Prince, an Albouystown resident, to prison yesterday, after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of Robbery under Arms when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Prince, 36, a taxi driver, who hails from 169 James and Curtis Streets,Nike Air Max 95 Sale, Albouystown, is accused of robbing Nicola Coates at gunpoint, of a cellular phone. The robbery allegedly occurred on November 23, 2015 at Bel Air Park.The defendant has to make another court appearance on January 28, before the Chief Magistrate.Police Prosecutor, Corporal Simone Payne, presented the prosecution’s facts to the Court.Payne objected to pre-trial liberty for Prince on the ground that he was charged before for an offence of a similar nature. The Prosecutor also cited the seriousness of the offence. She further related to the court that additional charges are expected to be laid against the father of four.Prince, who was not represented by a lawyer, pleaded with the Magistrate for bail. He told the Court that his wife is pregnant with their fifth child and that he is the ‘breadwinner’ for the home. However, his pleas went unheard and he was ordered remanded. |
