A 33-year-old man from East La Penitence, Georgetown, was remanded to prison when heappeared before the city court yesterday to face charges for several gun-related crimes.Sherwin Barrow was taken before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged with discharging a loaded firearm, armed robbery and attempted murder.The court heard that on June 13, last at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Barrow unlawfully and maliciously discharged a loaded firearm at Kellon Hinds also called ‘Baje’ with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or cause him grievous bodily harm.It is also alleged that at East Ruimveldt,Cheap Jerseys Online, Barrow pulled a gun on Hinds and robbed him of a gold chain valued at $2.4M, and a gold band valued at $1.2M.He is also accused of discharging a loaded firearm at Hinds with intent to murder him.The court heard too that on December 3,Jerseys NFL Wholesale, last at Agricola, East Bank Demerara,Cheap China Jerseys, while armed with a gun,Wholesale China Jerseys, Barrow robbed Ganesh Estick of one BLU cellular phone,Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping, one gold band, one gold chain and $10,Wholesale NFL Jerseys USA,000 cash.The accused,Wholesale Basketball Jerseys, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The Prosecutor asked the court to remand Barrow citing the nature and gravity of the charge.Jones said that the accused had resorted to using personal violence and the victim was hospitalised. The Prosecution also objected to bail based on the penalty the offences attract.Barrow argued that the victim was released from the hospital because he had seen him the day before his arraignment, and that the Prosecution added that the victim was at home recovering from the injuries. Jones added that the victim identified the accused.The Magistrate upheld the objections of the Prosecution thus bail was refused. Barrow’s case was transferred and is set to be called before Magistrate Judy Latchman on January 5, 2015. |
