Quick action by ranks of ‘B’ Division, Berbice on Tuesday, led to the interception of a taxi from the City Taxi Service in Georgetown with four men inside and a quantity of articles which the men had stolen from a resident minutes before.Residents of Berbice were high in praise for the prompt response of the ranks of the mobile patrol of the Central Police Station, which intercepted the car as it was making its way along the East Bank Berbice Public road.The home owners Aefran Daniels, 35, a heavy duty operator with The H. They were still in the process of checking when the couple received word that a car was intercepted on the East Bank Berbice, Public Road with four men and some articles inside.The police, after being informed of the home invasion, dispatched a patrol immediately which raced toward the East Bank Berbice Public Road and intercepted a car with number plate HC 1288.A quantity of household items was inside the car. When the car arrived in the village it had number plate HC 214, but this was changed to HC 1288.Daniels told the media that whilst at work he had seen this strange car with the men inside. The car had stopped not too far from where he was working; the men had disembarked, took out a television set from inside the vehicle and placed it into the trunk. Little did he know that the car contained his belongings.He stated that he knew one of the men as an ex-convict who lived not too far from him. The man would communicate with him and come by his place for water.The men are suspected to be the same men who battered and robbed a Chinese restaurant the night before.Those in custody are Carl Mangal, 24, a labourer of Lyng Street, Charlestown; Gregory Simmons, 42, a cook of 156 Curtis Street, Albouystown; Curt Grant, 41, a taxi driver of 136 East Ruimveldt and Joel Grannum, 25, a labourer of 27 Edinburgh, East bank Berbice.
