Magistrate Priya Beharry yesterday refused to grant bail to two women who were accused of trafficking in narcotics.The women,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, Petal Myers and Lisa Fung-A-Fat,NFL Jerseys Cheap, both pleaded not guilty to trafficking in narcotics when the charges were read to them.It was alleged that on October 5,Wholesale MLB Jerseys, last,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, at Bartica,Wholesale Authentic Jerseys, Myers had in her possession 762 grams of cannabis for trafficking on October 5.The prosecutor told the court that on the day in question Myers was a passenger in a taxi when it was stopped and searched.The court was told that the drugs were found in several pairs of shoes that were in Myers’s possession.Attorney at law Ronald Burch-Smith in a bail application told the court that Myers was a mother of two minor children.He said that the woman is gainfully employed as trader and as a cosmologist. Burch-Smith said that his client was unaware that the drugs were hidden in the shoes.He asked for bail in a reasonable sum.However the prosecutor stated that no special reason was given and as such bail should be denied.The magistrate granted the prosecutor’s application and remanded the woman. She is expected to make her next court appearance on October 27.Fung-A-Fat was accused of having in her possession 129 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.She was unrepresented yesterday. The prosecutor asked for bail to be refused and a date for statements to be served.Fung-A-Fat was remanded to prison and is expected to make her court appearance on October 27.Both matters were transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court. |
