Excessive rainfall yesterday flooded the compound of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), and nurses were seen hop-scotching to avoid the water as they ventured out of the hospital.Persons entering the hospital compound voiced their displeasure at having to walk through the water,Cheap Hydro Flask, and cited that the management of the GPHC had not even provided boards or crates for people to step on.Many persons gawked at the size of the fish living in the drains just outside of the GPHC, which surfaced during the flood. There were those who walked through the water, saying that they had no choice to get into the hospital compound. “Wha yuh really gun do?” asked a woman, “If yuh wan fuh go inside yuh gah fuh walk through the water.”The driver of the truck misjudged the width of the roadway because of the excessive water on the road and ended up in the drain. And while the people plodded through the flood waters, a truck ran into the drain just outside of the GPHC Accident and Emergency Unit on New Market Street, as it tried to park. The driver simply could not see the drain and so make a distinction from the roadway. |
