After appearing at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court previously, and being charged with nine counts of forgery and conspiracy,Dennis Rasmussen Jersey, 60-year-old Judy Ann Harmon was again back in court yesterday,Matt Cain Giants Jersey, on this occasion before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell,New York Mets Bartolo Colon Jersey, to face the matter against her.Harmon initially appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on November 25.Yesterday defence counsel Adrian Thompson made a bail application on behalf of his client, insisting that she was framed. Thompson told the court that his client was an elderly woman who was suffering from three different ailments.The lawyer stated that Harmon has no knowledge of the charges against her.Fraud accused Judy Ann HarmonAccording to the attorney,Chile Soccer Jersey, Harmon was asked by persons, whom she named,Sebastian Holmen Sweden Jersey, to purchase the alleged items mentioned in the nine charges. He continued that his client had no way of knowing that the cheques were false,Baltimore Orioles Yovani Gallardo Jersey, and that she had worked with the police – presenting them with the names of the persons who she claimed were involved in the matter. The police are still to locate these persons.Further hoping to secure bail, Thompson continued that Harmon was a “sickly woman”. He told the court that she is presently suffering from high blood pressure,Kyrie Irving Team USA Jersey, high cholesterol and diabetes. He also mentioned that his client had suffered a stroke a few years earlier. On these grounds the lawyer pleaded for the woman’s pre-trial liberty. He assured the court that she was not a flight risk and would return to court for any subsequent hearing of the matter. He stressed that Harmon was willing to adhere to any stipulations placed by the court.The prosecution,Edson Puch Chile Jersey, not convinced by the lawyer’s submission, countered his proposal for bail by informing the court that Harmon had initially given the police a false address. It was understood that the accused had given ranks an address which led them to a small room. It was the view of the prosecutor that if Harmon were to be placed on bail she would not return to for trial.The Campbellville Housing Scheme resident is accused of forging documents, uttering same false documents and conspiring to commit a felony. Charges against the accused indicated that she along with others conspired to use forged managers’ cheques purported to be issued by Demerara Bank to obtain articles from persons and businesses.She faces nine charges – three each on conspiracy,Ryan Murray Team North America Jersey, uttering false documents and forgery, which she allegedly committed on three business places. Harmon is accused of attempting to gain household items and jewellery valued at close to $3M, via false manager’s cheques, purportedly from the Demerara Bank.Harmon was further remanded to prison and will be making her next court appearance on December 2. |
