The evening of April 24, last, saw a dazzling event at the 4 Diamond Spice Isle Beach Resort which was the location for the official launching of Baron Foods Grenada. The three-hour event was attended by the Hon. Prime Minister Tillman Thomas,Nolan Ryan Mets Jersey, Members of Government,John Lackey Cubs Jersey, the diplomatic corps,Jose Iglesias Orioles Jersey, private and public sector and indeed all areas related to business.Guests were treated to sumptuous and exotic creations made from products within the company’s product range. The night was used as an opportunity to exhibit the products already available on the local market and included “Nutmeg Banana Ketchup” and “Nutmeg Delight French Dressing”, two value added products which appealed specifically to the Spice Isle.The world famous Baron West Indian Hot Sauce was also on display and added to the hype of the night’s activities.Speakers for the night included Prime Minister of Grenada – Hon. Tillman Thomas,Kenny Lofton Indians Jersey, CEO/Founder of Baron Foods – Mr. Ronald Ramjattan,Munenori Kawasaki Cubs Jersey, Executive Director of Baron Grenada,Troy Tulowitzki Blue Jays Jersey, Mr. Chris Persaud and Investment Promotion Manager of the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation – Mr. Ronald Theodore.The message was clear as all speakers confirmed their commitment towards a common goal of enhancing the local production of goods of international quality and standard. Mr. Ramjattan reaffirmed the company’s commitment towards contributing to the better good of the Grenadian economy whilst the Hon. Tillman Thomas reassured of his government’s commitment to the project and agro-businesses in general.Khemraj Ramjattan, legal advisor of Baron Foods (Guyana),Manny Ramirez Indians Jersey, who also spoke, traced the early beginnings of the Company and the humble origins of Ronald Ramjattan to now one of the more acclaimed entrepreneurs in the OECS.He noted,Fernando Valenzuela Dodgers Jersey, “In the true spirit of the common market and economy we seek to build, here is an entrepreneur from Guyana, establishing and capitalising out of St Lucia,Babe Herman Dodgers Jersey, and now expanding in Grenada creating direly needed employment and revenue.” He pleaded that the Company go with an even bigger investment to Guyana.The new facility is located in the bread basket parish of St. Andrew and is expected to provide direct gainful employment to an estimated seventy-five persons.The plant will also provide guaranteed markets for farmers’ produce as it is heavily dependent on the consistent supply of fresh local produce. Baron Foods Grenada is expected to output in excess of one hundred and thirty-five different products and will be export oriented.
