Second Round commences todaySix schools have progressed into the second round of the GBTI Impromptu Speech rivalry,Ryan McDonagh Rangers Jersey, which commences today.Round two rivalries will involve Queen’s College,Maurice Richard Canadiens Jersey, Mae’s Secondary,Jay Beagle Capitals Jersey, St. Stanislaus College,Evgeny Svechnikov Red Wings Jersey, St. Rose’s High,Andrew Shaw Canadiens Jersey, St. Joseph High and Annandale Secondary.The competition began on October 23 with 22 schools.On October 30,Bob Gainey Canadiens Jersey, Covent Garden Secondary won against Christ Church Secondary School with 419 points. The Best Speaker was Saleema Hakh, who presented on the topic “How I would promote tourism in Guyana”.Saif Panday,Eric Fehr Penguins Jersey, of St. Rose’s High School,Kris Draper Red Wings Jersey, was the Best Speaker in the clash against Diamond Secondary.The following day, St. Stanislaus College won with 642 points against Cummings Lodge Secondary who gained 515 points. The best speaker was Daryll Goodchild who presented on the topic “Tattoos and body piercing should be prohibited”.On November 1,Mike Gartner Rangers Jersey, St. Rose’s High won with 641 points against Diamond Secondary. The best speaker was Saif Panday who presented on the topic “If I want to impress someone I would tell them about my…”The competition originated from the GBTI Region Three branch in 2007. It has now grown into a national contest. |
