Several local farming groups and the Environmental Committee Health Organisation (ECHO) were yesterday presented with a quantity of farming equipment compliments of Food for the Poor Guyana Inc.The items consisted of cutlasses,Jose Cruz Astros Jersey, files, hoses,Cheap Jerseys Free Shpping, pick axes, shovels and forks,Wholesale Jerseys From China, all valued at $5.2 million.The farming groups included the Buxton Farmers Group, Hope Estate Farmers Group, Kuru Kururu Farmers Association,DJ LeMahieu Rockies Jersey, and the Ann’s Grove Farmers Group.The main aim of the venture is to support and play a vital role in the recently launched agricultural campaign: Grow More Food.“We need the farmers to plant more food so that we could buy it back from them to feed the nation,Dave Concepcion Reds Jersey,” said director of Food for the Poor (FFP), Mr. Leon Davis, who addressed the gathering yesterday in the boardroom of the Food for the Poor headquarters, Festival City.He added that the efforts by his organisation to aid in the Grow More Food campaign are not going to stop at this project.There is a lot more in store to battle poverty in Guyana, he said. His organisation is also importing seeds to be donated to the farmers.The project is managed by Andrea Benjamin who,Homer Bailey Reds Jersey, along with the director, presented the tools to the farmers.The small farming groups along with ECHO all expressed their gratitude to the representatives of FFP and promised to be committed to their end of the venture. |
