A total of thirteen items of mail, containing cocaine totaling some 300 grams, and destined for the United States of America, have been intercepted at the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC). The illicit substance was intercepted yesterday following a joint operation with members of the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU), the Police Narcotics Branch and the GPOC.According to Surujbans Rao, Intelligence Officer, CANU,Jeff Bagwell Astros Jersey, the cards were intercepted on two separate occasions. The first find was made around 09:30 hours while the second one was made around 14:00 hours.In the initial discovery, a total of 8 envelopes intended for addresses in New York were found to be carrying the substance.
