Rudder, who was 17 at the time of the incident, is accused of killing Donnis King on March 23, 2007.Defence counsel representing Rudder, Glenn Hanoman, in his address, reiterated to the jury that in 2007 when Rudder gave a statement to the police he was beaten. Sandiford further stated that even if the prosecution was to forget about the “caution statement” given by the accused, he is still not able to “destroy” the evidence given by witnesses.She said that the victim’s mother saw Rudder and her daughter arguing and the brother saw him running away from the scene.The case was closed, and on Tuesday it would be “summed up”. Simultaneously, a loud explosion was heard and the suspect was shot in his right thigh. Seconds later a loud explosion was heard.
