A popular Pharmacist of Bush Lot Village,Pierre Pilote Jersey, West Coast Berbice, and a second occupant of a car were killed in a horrific accident at Bath Settlement yesterday afternoon. Four others are listed as critical.Dead are Canada-based Guyanese, Shiv Hanoman,Martin Havlat Jersey, 48, and tattoo artist,Jack Johnson Jersey, Neru Bankay, 22 of Bush Lot Housing Scheme.The accident occurred around 13:30 hrs and it involved a BMW convertible bearing number plate PFF 6999 driven by now deceased Bankay. The car was heading east to Rosignol. Reports state that Bankay attempted to overtake a truck and crashed head on into a car coming from the opposite direction.The impact caused the BMW to immediately burst into flames, according to eyewitnesses.On lookers watched from a safe distance as the two men perished. When the fire was eventually extinguished the body of the Canada-based Guyanese was burnt beyond recognition. Bankay, was identifiable.Traffic Officer in charge of ‘B’ Division,Dennis Rasmussen Jersey, Deputy Superintendent Boodnarine Persaud, told media operatives that the hire car,Clark Griswold Jersey, HC 5367 had five occupants including the driver,David Clarkson Jersey, identified as Nigel Trotz, he sustained a broken right leg and abrasions.The passengers listed as critical are Rookiin Sooklall, 48,Erik Gustafsson Jersey, Karmen Marks and Phyllis Corlette,Ales Hemsky Jersey, 41,Jonathan Toews Jersey, who sustained head injuries. Fiona Rasool, 32, suffered internal bleeding. |
