Vivian Neville found himself in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, yesterday to answer a charge of knowingly receiving a stolen laptop.According to the police, on January 24 last, in Georgetown, Neville obtained one $120,000 notebook computer from Sonia Noher knowing same to be stolen. To the charge the unrepresented man pleaded not guilty.Magistrate Beharry allowed him bail in the sum of $80,000 and adjourned the matter for February 4.Also making his first court appearance before the same Magistrate was Eon Archibald of 155 Campbellville Scheme, Georgetown. He is accused of robbing Adrino Suaso De Silva while being armed with a knife.According to police prosecutor Stephen Telford on January 21, as De Silva was walking along Camp Street the accused came up from behind him and pressed a knife to De Silva’s waist and demanded that he hand over everything.As a result De Silva became terrified and complied, the accused then made good his escape.When asked by the Magistrate if he did carry out the unlawful act, the suspect from the prisoners dock related to the court that he usually “hustle” and on the day in question he confronted De Silva who owed him money for marijuana and cocaine he had marketed to him.“My worship I did not rob that man, we were arguing over the money he owe me for weed and cocaine he trust from me.”With that the Magistrate informed him that he committed an unlawful act,Alan Page Vikings Jersey, but the accused assured her that he wanted to be honest with the court.He went on to relate that he works in the interior as a goldminer and that it is “below him” to rob poor people.“My worship I don’t like robbing poor people…Is hustle I does hustle for my money, is cowboy deh want cow boy meh”.But bail was refused and the matter was made returnable on Tuesday. |
