Under the theme, “Nurses: A Force for Change: Care Effective, Cost Effective.” The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), observed International Nurses’ Day 2015 on May 12, last, as they took the time to celebrate the hard work of their nurses in the Guyana Nursing Council.International nurses day logoEvery country has its own distinctive way of celebrating its nurses. In Guyana, the entire May is dedicated to the medical professionals. The nation’s Provider of Free Quality Health Services, has planned a number of activities to recognise the inflexible work of nurses at the health care institution this month.The activities, which kicked off with a Church service on Sunday at the GPHC, continued with a panel discussion on Tuesday.On Tuesday, next,Cheap China Jerseys, the celebrations will continue with a lunch for the nurses of GPHC. The following Wednesday an Education Day is scheduled, along with a presentation on the use of resources in the nursing programme.Thursday May 21, another panel discussion is slated for the current and persuading nurses under the Theme: “Nurses must care for themselves effectively”.The month’s activities will conclude on Saturday May 23, at the Guyana Nurses’ Association Hall with a Social Evening of games, poetry, singing, modelling and mother and daughter fashion show.Over the years, International Nurses’ Day has been celebrated all across the world in honour of the dedication and contributions nurses make to society, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) has been celebrating this day since 1965.In 1953 Dorothy Sutherland, an official with the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, proposed that President Dwight D.
